Pay attention to the glow
For it will show you where to go
The shaking and luminous light
To take your attention away for the night
Is it night or day, I can’t seem to say
The haze of the slow morning leads the way
Toward a small glimmer in a village nearby
It shines along a path, reflecting images up high
Stand and look up and then down
Do you hear the wind inside this town?
It whips around corners
And alerts the warner’s
How the breeze comes and goes
Leaving hangovers in rows
Swiftly then slowly
The pace of the air is holy
Alone along an empty street
With the wind kissing my bare feet
Moving, yet very still
The sun peaking, removes the chill
The shadows along the stone walls
Like friends surrounding me in applause
As the sun moves down this alley
I refuse to dally
One single step, then another
Has a little bit more thunder
And then the wind halts
And the stray cats begin their waltz
A quiet morning with angels
Working hard they swoop from all angles
Into the spaces of their assigned ones
Bringing their messages in different sums
The street is empty I stand alone
The vibrant blue door sets the tone
Sun rising, rocks and rubble surround
The buildings hold secrets abound
A mysterious place is this
But I know this land, we had our first kiss
It tickles inside my heart
An unexpected fresh start
Morocco you know what?
The way you are, it’s not what I thought
The beauty and the magic
Sits and moves like a soft silk fabric
Woven particles of past and here
Touch those that are now so dear
I remember the smell of that walk
And the secret way the alley would talk
Colours and dusts of old
They made their way into my soul
Gifted a memory I’ll always hold
That morning on that street, inside the red glimmer and gold
