The Sound of Sirens

The sound of sirens silences.
You never heard them, they were so loud.
The lights flashing, colours blazing, screaming.
The decibels at the highest pitch, you didn’t flinch.

The heart that stole you, the breath that saved you.
Gone in an instant, the injuries and impact, not minor.
Little bumps, little bumps, little bumps.
A tearful scene inside the mind, smoother now, without alert.

Standing by and watching the chaos, feeling the weight.
Waiting for something, anything to lift the suspicion.
She saw all along, but stayed because she is pure, she is love.
But the sirens are silenced now, no more dilation of sight.

You took nine wrong steps, she led you back and you let her slip.
She knows who you are more than you do.
She wanted to love you, she let herself go somewhere for you.
She will not look back, she will never come back.

The risks, the time, the lies, the loneliness is no more.
The significance of her, of you, of it all, holds now a secret, a lesson.
School was in but now it’s out, the path is very changed.
Chalkboard statements erased.

The planets designed this, they directed the show.
The actors and their parts following script, line by line.
Memorizing became easy, learning became the challenge.
Soaking wet scenes full of spark and defence, trying to calm a drowning tiger.

She lights a candle for you everyday, as you do too.
The beauty in the growth, the transition, the purpose and the alarm.
Never ever will forget, never will the tide stop moving.
Washing away, washing away, washing away the clutch, the cling, the sting.

Who are they now? Who are they really?
Two souls of wonderful light, they gave to one another amidst a storm.
The sound of sirens are silenced. She heard loud and clear.
There is no more mystery. The diamond, is stronger than ever.

Take Me Away

The wind is behind you it holds things in place.
I don’t need it anymore. I never did, but she did.
The breeze speaks softly, it’s the only sound.
The changes are beautiful, breath is found.

I lose and accept. No more possession, no holds.
Love moves, allows, sits, releases, knows without bound.
Rooms of rest located in the mind, a gift of surrender.
Giving up and in, giving out, removing from the pile.

Lighter, softer, warmer, quieter, the gates open.
I can’t keep you, I am not for you, or for anyone.
Begin again, use the time to move away, gather and abstain.
Tears of clarity, emergence of power but double the pain.

Take me away to the day where it’s all just fine and okay.
What I feel is heavy, it’s mine and yours and hers.
Deciding to use silence as a knapsack, it holds what I need.
Let your touch, your smell, your heart and your wounds starve me.

Loud and visible not the way. Underground, silent and without you I pray.
I won’t remind, I won’t explain, I won’t wait, I won’t stay.
When you don’t look away, when I’m not washed away, that’s the day.
I walk towards the light, the stars above me hold a secret that doesn’t delay.

When I walk, I run. When I speak, I sing.
Gifts and rarity noticed, words, words, words.
The propellor stops and the engine cools, the clouds shift.
Take me away to that cave, where I am alone, without anyone to save.

Must Be

I must walk, I must eat, I must sleep, I must sing,
I must give, I must love, I must breathe.

I must wait, I must hope, I must believe, I must dance,
I must hold, I must allow, I must let go.

I must wander, I must do, I must trust, I must protect,
I must resurrect, I must embrace, I must create.

I must look at the Earth and its inhabitants and I must
use what I have to change what I can.

I must look at today with gratitude for all that I have,
all that I can do, all that I am and all that I will be.

I must not look behind me or too far in front.
The landscape alters in a flash, what is here today is you, me, them, us.
We won’t break.

I must thank the catalysts. I must say my deepest thanks
for pushing me through to a stronger and most important place.

I must use what I see, use what I feel, use what I hear,
use what I smell and use what I taste for greater purpose and harmony.

I must let you in, I must keep you out, I must call it in,
I must explain it all, I must be honest, I must be frank, I must be true.

I must admit, musting is a grind. But musts have brought great fortune,
without them, life is less sublime.

I must wake up, I must swim, I must ride, I must run,
I must fall, I must pause, I must jump.

I must leverage what and how nature gives and I must tether
my heart and my blood so tightly to what I believe, to what I know.

I must be alive.
