Must Be

I must walk, I must eat, I must sleep, I must sing,
I must give, I must love, I must breathe.

I must wait, I must hope, I must believe, I must dance,
I must hold, I must allow, I must let go.

I must wander, I must do, I must trust, I must protect,
I must resurrect, I must embrace, I must create.

I must look at the Earth and its inhabitants and I must
use what I have to change what I can.

I must look at today with gratitude for all that I have,
all that I can do, all that I am and all that I will be.

I must not look behind me or too far in front.
The landscape alters in a flash, what is here today is you, me, them, us.
We won’t break.

I must thank the catalysts. I must say my deepest thanks
for pushing me through to a stronger and most important place.

I must use what I see, use what I feel, use what I hear,
use what I smell and use what I taste for greater purpose and harmony.

I must let you in, I must keep you out, I must call it in,
I must explain it all, I must be honest, I must be frank, I must be true.

I must admit, musting is a grind. But musts have brought great fortune,
without them, life is less sublime.

I must wake up, I must swim, I must ride, I must run,
I must fall, I must pause, I must jump.

I must leverage what and how nature gives and I must tether
my heart and my blood so tightly to what I believe, to what I know.

I must be alive.
