Old Soul

Old soul here is a story.

You came to me, I came to you, today in this time because our souls were together once before in a past time. You feel what you do, I feel what I do because we have felt this before. It’s something inside of us that is familiar, but also beyond both of us. I know you, you know me.

We were together on a ship out at sea.

There were many others on the ship and there were catastrophic storms, illnesses and grief. We latched onto each other and took to work holding, healing, tending to, and protecting the ones around us during hardship. We were the strong ones looking out for them.

As the winds blew, the ship rocked, the waves surmounting the boat, the rain torrentially hitting, soaking, freezing, we did not stop. We saved many fellow shipmen, but some we could not. I always felt deep pain for the ones we lost. The pain lasted weeks, months, from not being able to save them all. It’s why I am who I am.

At the end of each treacherous day, you and I would comfort each other. After giving our energy, using our resources, applying our care, we would sit down in a corner. A special corner. This is a memory I am not sure why and how I have but it’s there. Wet, cold, hungry and embraced.

We would sit in this corner under a blanket drinking in each other’s warmth. I was huddled inside you, your arms wrapped around me and we were inside a cocoon regenerating one another’s vibration. Protecting ourselves from those around us for just a moment, to stop, to breathe, to give one another comfort and solace. We were tired. So exhausted from fighting the storms, battling the rages and helping to keep the ship afloat so everyone felt as safe as possible. Hoping always to make it to that wondrous shore off in the distance. Land. Sand. Trees. Fresh water. Land animals. A better life. The two of us were nominated the care takers of this ship, the givers, the knowers and the bringers of light and humour during fearful times. We wore the badges proudly.

The day we met in this life, before thinking, before knowing, I gave you a glass of water out of instinct and it was the only thought, the only action, the only understanding that I had in that moment that felt necessary. I must give him water to drink.

It has so much meaning to me now after being reunited with this story. When I looked at you it was as if I had quenched your thirst before and this was just a reenactment of where we had once been. It is a story written many, many years ago and it’s why, we will always be connected and protecting each other from wherever we are during whatever storms we may face. We are experienced and we are stronger because of one another.

It’s why letting go feels strange.

Because we were latched so tightly, so deeply, and in such meaningful position and purpose once before, that deep inside it’s a recognition difficult to separate from. But it is wonderful to know and to understand. There is beauty in it. But letting go of it, doesn’t undo what we did, what we have, and the impact we made. Remembering being in that corner of the ship with you, it carries me, reminds me and sends me forward with a force that I am blessed to have.

This story is not untrue.

It is the very truth of a past life experience that I have ever felt and known. The ship, the people, the blanket, the cold, the rain, the waves, the storms, the raging sea, the darkness, the light, the stars, the stillness, it’s all a part of me. And it is a part of you.

The way the moon and its light cared for us, directing our path and leading us exactly here. You are drawn to look up at the sky as am I. It’s what we did. We knew we were being guided well by the stars and so still, we are. We trust and we know.

I hope this story brings to you the feelings and sensations that it brings to me. Deep wisdom, peace, ignited spiritual energy and the most powerful resilience there is.

Nurtured by Nature

You came by today and it was so good to see you.

When you touched me I felt your energy,
the warmth of your soul.

There were many others around but it just felt like us two.

As I looked down, you looked up,
we smiled and we were whole.

Many years together now, today was an important day.

My branches sheltered you and you
took the power.

Invigoration, strength and courage I smelled in your blood, it was a splay.

Your face, the sweetest sight not even the rain
could give a more beautiful shower.

You’ve been a victim too many times, but I’m right here, in between the sea and the silence.

I’ll never leave, and you know that. I’m always here when you come
and I’m standing stronger because you visit me.

When you arrived today again, I was grateful because I felt our special alliance.

There are many stories ahead for you, there are plenty of souls waiting,
you hear their plea.

You acknowledge me every time like it’s our very first meeting, and the aliveness I feel from your presence is purifying and thrilling.

Next time you could stay longer if you’d like, you could wrap your arms around me
and our souls could ignite, that’d be nice.

I could transfer some of my vibration and my deepest wisdom into your veins
and we could see together, the secrets of the future.

You’re always welcome here, I’ll always wait for you, my eyes will open
wider with glee when you approach.

Let’s keep listening to the birds and the breeze together and watch the others buzzing by.

When you’re here, life makes more sense, it’s where you’re supposed to be,
it’s where I am, it’s where we meet and where the Universe begins to listen and coordinate.

Our power together cannot compare, the truths we hold don’t match other realms.

We can choose, we can see, we can breathe, and we can be still,
strong, alone and very free…together.

Thank you for coming today, what a treat. Will you come tomorrow?
It’s ok if you don’t, be free and I’ll wait

Fridge Talk

You click and crack.
I swear to God I am going to snap.
What is wrong with you, do you need a nap?

You hold my nourishment and contain my fuel.
But all I feel like some days is that you just want to duel.

It is funny actually, how long I have left you ailing.
The days I intensely dream of sending you sailing.

Why all of a sudden are you speaking this odd language?
Did you take a class and get injured? Do you now need a bandage?

I cannot see or find the source of your injury, you cry out to me full of fury.
Just chill out for a minute, I will keep excavating your core.
I am literally now, sprawled out on the floor.

I think your sounds are a result of ageing.
The wrinkles and creases and misalignments obvious;
Yet still I stand in front of you questioning and gauging.

I cannot bear to part with you and your wonderful heart.
We have never really ever been apart.

Who or what will cool my cucumbers, freeze my berries and crisp my Ambrosias?
Do you have any idea what your absence will do?
I think I need Oprah!

I wish you would silence but, in a small and slightly messed up way,
I kind of want you to scream harder.
Tell me more and louder, so I can even hear you in the shower.

Dear fridge of mine, will you ever stop tapping, clacking and ticking?
If not, fret I will no more;
There has got to be someone who understands the nature of your fixing.

It’s a miracle. Your fixer has just appeared.
A solution you could not mention; heat.
You weren’t warm enough, the air around you was cold.
So your bolts and screws and panels had been achy and off kilter I have now been told.

What a strange phenomena. I adjusted my warmth and you began to heal.
And oh my, had I known it was this simple;
I would have jacked up the heat a hell of a lot sooner, given that a try.

I might actually miss your cracking noises, wishing in fact, they did not fade.
There was something about this peculiar several month long annoying event;
That has given me insight I cannot now trade.

The quirks of life, my fridge indeed not just an appliance but a tool for guidance.
I am paying close attention now to the broken fixtures, the ailing clocks, the halting of heat and time and the sudden shifts in temperature.
I am forced to examine the science and wisdom of noise…and silence.
This might just be, an overture.

No coincidence broke my clocks, injured my fridge, stopped the flow of heat.
And not by chance did I say your name and one hour later we are to meet.

I love your invitations, thank you for letting me see.
Something so beautiful and important that now and forever;
It will be impossible to not ever, not see.
